Manufacturing Process
Our manufacturing process ensures top performance from new and re-manufactured brass.
A good foundation for a high quality accurate round starts with the case…
So we start by purchasing only quality materials from trusted sources. We use only gold colored NEW and RE-MANUFACTURED (REMAN) box primer brass cases for our TARGET SERIES and nickel plated NEW only brass for our PERSONAL DEFENSE and MATCH COMPETITION SERIES. The NEW CASES are designed and pressed to our specifications in our PRECISION TARGET, PRECISION DEFENSE and PRECISION MATCH head stamps . Our target series REMAN brass undergoes an initial inspection to separate caliber, type and damaged brass. Next it is processed by de-capping, swagging and squaring the primer seat all the time inspecting each case as it’s processed and including some special dies to assist us with QC. We do a second inspection and sort the brass cases as part of our continually improving QC process checking for everything from minor blemishes to major defects such as dents and stress fractures. Once the cases are inspected, processed, sorted, secondary inspected they are labelled “Primary Processed” and are ready for the next step. This final step before loading is where we clean the cases in a proprietary cleaning solution (no magic here, just an effective solution that a few quality brass re-manufacturing facilities use and assisted us with the formula) which if anyone is interested consists mainly of filtered water with a small amount of de-greasing/residue free liquid soap, and a small amount of acid which must agitate for approximately 4 hours in a commercial tumbler. An agitation media must be used to ensure universal and thorough cleaning especially in the primer seating area, we use stainless steel as this has had the most consistent and predictable performance. The processed brass is then sealed and staged for manufacturing. The cases are now clean with a high luster and are now labeled “Fully Processed” and sealed for manufacturing along with the new cases.
As we manufacture all of our ammunition we have continuous QC inspection. The mills are set to exacting specifications with established formulas for the purpose of the series of rounds we manufacture. We use three types each of powders, primers and case types to offer the best performance and value for REMAN TARGET, NEW TARGET, PERSONAL DEFENSE and our flagship round in MATCH SERIES.
To build a quality round it takes quality materials…
All of our production materials are staged for manufacturing. The powder, primer and projectiles are all of the highest quality USA brand or formula’s purchased direct from the respective manufacturers and distributors. We use our performance formulas for each cartridge from target to match competition. We factor all cartridge components into our formulas including projectile type, weight and overall length matched to work in concert with the powder and primer types to create the predictable and dependable performance of each round series.
To consistently manufacture quality rounds we use precision equipment…
We use proprietary multi stage automated ammunition mills with custom made match grade precision dies. The precision dies are hydraulically adjustable to 1/1000th of an inch and locked into place which are said to be good for a minimum 50 hours of production and still remain in acceptable tolerances. We however have much higher tolerances than standard production and inspect all of our die settings several times each hour of production. All dies are set to exacting and precise specifications for powder loads, projectile depth and COAL settings targeting maximum performance based on our specific formula for the series of the round.
Post production polishing…
Our final stage, once our rounds are assembled (when most other manufacturers are packaging), we have a final step of post production polishing. The polishers are automatically timed for each series using special media for the perfect balance of high sheen with minimum temperature increase. This added step allows for smoother feeds and serves as an additional QC step. Once polished they are then loaded into our packaging machine where they go through a final QC inspection as they are being loaded into sizing dies before being loaded into the 50 count trays or bulk packaged in fiber barrels. This ensures that only the highest quality ammunition leaves the factory floor.
